Woman arrested after drugs bust
A 26-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a major seizure of drugs, police said yesterday.
A police spokesman said the woman had been detained “in connection with a significant drug seizure that was made last week in conjunction with a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement agency investigation.”
The spokesman added: “The Bermuda Police Service considers this an important seizure as a significant quantity of controlled drugs — yet to be analysed, but believed to be heroin — was prevented from hitting Bermuda’s streets.”
And he said that no further information on the incident would be released until “the relevant individuals are put before the courts.”
• In a separate incident, a 38-year-old man was arrested at the airport on Sunday night in connection with the alleged importation of drugs from the US.
The man, from Paget, was detained around 10.30pm after getting off the American Airlines flight from New York.
