One launches new roaming service
One Communications is offering a new roaming product designed to give its mobile customers more certainty about what they are paying while using their phones abroad and better value.
Carry-On Roaming launches today. “An $8 Carry-On Auto Pack provides a generous, automatic bucket of data on a daily basis in almost any country, with the option to purchase more data at the customer’s discretion,” OneCom said in a statement.
Carry-On Roaming is automatically included in every postpaid customer’s mobile phone plan, so there is never any need to add or remove the service.
Once a customer touches down at their destination, the daily $8 Auto Pack will initiate, as long as the phone is switched on and data roaming is enabled, OneCom added.
“The launch signifies a major shift away from ‘pay per use’ data roaming charges and monthly service fees where customers were unsure of how much data they were using, and how much they were spending,” OneCom said. “With Carry-On Roaming, the customer is in complete control of their experience.”
Brian Lonergan, chief commercial officer at OneCom, said: “Many people buy a local SIM card when they travel or turn off data roaming completely to avoid risk.
“Carry-On Roaming provides a better experience for our customers with data all packed and ready to go. While travelling, your smartphone can navigate you through cities, connect you with friends, and suggest the best restaurants; Carry-On Roaming will be there to help provide that experience.”
Frank Amaral, CEO of OneCom, said: “Our customers can now stay in touch while travelling abroad with a data roaming service that is both predictable and easy to use.
“We know many of our customers have limited their travel plans due to Covid, but with the upcoming holidays and required travel for other reasons, they can use their smartphones with confidence and have one less thing to worry about.”
