Jewellery stolen during robbery
morning on Nursery Lane, Sandys.
The victim told Police he was walking from a home in the area when two men jumped him and knocked him to the ground.
They kicked and beat him about the body before taking the valuables and leaving.
He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries to his face, head, and body.
Inquiries by Western CID are currently underway.
SOCCER FAN FLARES UP SOC Soccer fan flares up One football fan may have gone a bit too far on Friday night when a flare was spotted on Frog Lane, Devonshire around the time of the Bermuda Jamaica U-17 match.
Bermuda Harbour Radio report that the flare was seen over land around 9.30 p.m.
As a precaution Marine Police searched the waters in the area. The white parachute flare was found and the incident was chalked up as a prank. By then the soccer match at the National Stadium was well underway.
ACCIDENT INJURY AC Accident injury A 30-year-old man is resting comfortably in hospital this morning after losing control of a cycle in a serious road accident on Friday.
Police report the man was on his auxiliary cycle on North Shore Road near Barkers' Hill shortly after 10 p.m. He apparently lost control of his cycle and struck a wall, sustaining fractured ribs and knee injuries.
MAN COLLAPSES HTH Man collapses A Warwick man collapsed and died while walking on Dunscombe Road yesterday, the victim of a presumed heart attack.
The 40-year-old man is understood to have recently had a heart operation.
He was pushing a cycle near Ord Road when he collapsed shortly after 1 p.m.
THIEVES STEAL CASH CRM Thieves steal cash The thief or thieves who broke into Bermuda Rentals was not interested in the numerous display items, only money.
The culprits forced their way into the store and got access to the cash after breaking into a filing cabinet.
