Hatherley claims honours

Mark Hatherly won the Male A division race at Hog Bay Park, Somerset, in the Flying Colours Fat Tyre Massive Race Series on Sunday.

Hatherly handled the muddy conditions better than the rest of the inexperienced field to claim the win. Chequan Richardson finished runner-up while Deshi Smith came third.

Dominique Mayho, the division leader, did not race because of overseas commitments, while fellow title challenger Neil de ste Croix had to withdraw midway through the race because of an illness. More than 80 riders completed the course.

Matthew Oliveira won the Male B division, with Christian Oatley and Chris Smith coming second and third.

In the Male Veterans category, Hans Hirchi was the winner, holding off second place Charles Swart and Paulo Medeiros who came third.

Ussef Eve took the Male Novice line honours, while Billy Phillip claimed second and Timothy Sousa finished third. Joanne Medeiros won an uncontested Female Novice category. In the junior divisions, Dylan Hill won the 13-15 age group, ahead of Kaden Hopkins and Max ste de Croix.

Cassy McPhee won the 13-15 age group, with Tristan Narraway and Rebecca Harrison rounding out the top three. In the Male 12 and under division, Malik Joell took first place, Rayne Kowalchuck finished second and Eusebio King-Mills came third.

Logan Watson-Brown defeated Cali Lindo to claim victory in the Female 12 and under race.
