Dear Sir,

I think it is a good idea for the Fairmont Southampton to build condos and homes for renting or sale to foreign buyers.

Remember people, the Fairmont Southampton has remained open all through this recessionary period of the world, plus our local problems of several hotels, condos and guest properties having to close down or going into receivership.

We have lost in the last 10 or more years the Lantana cottage colony, Munroe’s Beach cottages, Nine Beaches at Daniel’s head, the Golden Hind on the South Shore in Warwick, Pink Beach Cottage Colony, Ariel Sands cottage colony, Sonesta Beach Hotel, Belmont hotel and several room and board places for tourists.

So, come on Government, give the Fairmont Southampton a new lease on life. (Let’s cut them some slack).

All what the Fairmont Southampton want to do will provide many new jobs for Bermudians and put so much needed funds into our country.

Remember, Fairmont Southampton brings in a lot of tourists in the convention groups that come here, it runs into many thousands of tourists each year to Bermuda.
