Robin Hood taking over the top spot from BAA Wanderers after action on Saturday.

While Wanderers had to fight for a 1-1 draw with Forties, Hood took care of Lobster Pot, 2-0, to move one point clear of their rivals.

The two sides entered Saturday level on 16 points, but with Wanderers occupying the lead role on the basis of a superior goal differential.

However, Hood, with two goals from Simon Turner in the first half, laid Pot to rest and in the process turned up the heat on Wanderers, who are bidding to repeat as champions of the group.

Both have two matches remaining, although Wanderers appear to have the easier route, with cellar dwellers North Village Rams and struggling Lobster Pot on their schedule, while Hood have a tough encounter against third placed Island Rangers, who still have an outside shot at the title, and Exiles in the season finale.

Forties nearly compounded the misery of Wanderers as a goal in the first half by Carlos Lee looked like holding up and it took a 90th minute equaliser from Andy Powell to earn a share of the spoils.

There was a goal feast at Dockyard, where Island Rangers and Spinning Wheel hooked up in an action packed encounter.

Rangers won 6-3, scoring three goals in each half, a pace Wheel failed to match.

Theron Smith netted a hat-trick for the victors, Blaine Outerbridge scored twice and Troy Berkeley the other. Rangers, in fact, scored seven goals, as Dennis Bean put one past his own goal-line.

Des Minors netted twice for Wheel.

The lone remaining Group A game had Exiles and North Village draw 2-2. Kent Bascome and Craig Tyrell (penalty) were on target for Exiles, while Milgrove Romaine twice connected from the spot for Rams.

Devonshire Colts All-Stars sealed one of the two promotion spots from Group B as they edged fellow challengers Valley 2-1 at Frog Lane field.

A goal 10 minutes from the end by Myron Piper settled the match in All-Stars' favour.

Earlier the home team got off to a flying start as Vance Campbell shot them into the lead after just four minutes, a lead they held until Valley's Austin Butterfield equalised in the 65th minute.

All-Stars can clinch the Group B championship with a victory in their next league match.

Second place Fire Service were unable to aid their cause when they arrived at Prospect Field for a match against St. George's All-Stars only to find the field unmarked and have the referee call off the match.

Continuing to slide were Somerset Extros, who were pummelled 6-1 by unheralded Wolves Pack.

Wolves were led by Walter Harris' four goal outburst, while Dennis O'Brien and Kavon Trott rounded out the scoring.

Other games had Prison Officers downing Park United 5-1 as Reginald Coddington, Dennis Brown, Erskine Swan, Reginald Pitcher and James Braithwaite (own goal) scored, while Leslie Mills notched a lone reply for Park, and Devonshire Lions and KPMG played to a 0-0 draw.

In Alliance Group A Dandy Town secured the title in style by beating nearest rivals PHC 3-1.

In Group B St. David's slammed BAA 4-0 and Devonshire Cougars hammered Prospect 6-1.
