Dennis Rahiim Watson gives keynote address
Students need to provide leadership to fellow young people to keep them on the right path, according to Bermudian motivational speaker Dennis Rahiim Watson.Making a keynote address to the Student Colloquium on Sustainable Development, Mr Watson warned that gang activity and violence could cost thousands of workers in the Caribbean their livelihood.“You must use your education, knowledge and skills to address the underlying issues of poverty, unemployment, hopelessness, rampant fatherlessness, coupled with the lack of opportunity to succeed,” Mr Watson said.Born in Bermuda and raised on Ord Road, Mr Watson is now the chairman of the National Youth and Gang Violence Taskforce, speaking out on issues such as gang activity.Mr Watson also recently spoke at the Caribbean Tourism Week Awards Gala, where he noted his past experience working in the hospitality industry.The gala was attended by more than 300 guests, including Tourism Minister Patrice Minors and representatives from several Caribbean nations such as Barbados and the Cayman Islands.
