Help solve crime
The chairperson of a confidential hotline is appealing for the man Police believe first spotted the body of teenager Rhiana Moore, and all Bermudians with information, to call them.
Joanne MacPhee, however, said she was unable to comment on how many phone calls CrimeStoppers had already received in relation to the Rhiana's murder because of the confidentiality of the service.
Rhiana, who was an honour student and devoted member of the Radnor Road Ministries, was reported dead around 11 a.m. on Saturday
Her body was found in the mangroves of Blue Hole Hill nature reserve, though Police said yesterday that they believe the first man to find the body has not come forward
A St. David's man who was arrested the same afternoon was still in custody last night being questioned in connection with the death and the forensic pathologist had now arrived on the Island.
Police have also asking for anyone dumping trash or visited the domestic waste drop-off at the Tynes Bay Incinerator in Devonshire between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Saturday to please call.
Investigators are keen to speak with the drivers or owners of the following vehicles:
- A champagne gold/tan-coloured older model RAV4 Toyota car.
- A white Renault Scenic station wagon.
- A white intermediate-sized enclosed van.
Yesterday Mrs. Macphee said she hoped the man who may have first spotted the body, and anyone with even the smallest bit of information, would contact them or the Police.
She said: "It's a matter of not having the whole picture, but a small bit of information that might be able to help Police.
"CrimeStoppers would be a perfect thing. One of my messages is, if for whatever reason the man who discovered the body is on the wrong side of the law or doesn't trust the law this is your way to help.
"Mrs. MacPhee also stressed that the important details may not be just in the last couple of hours of Rhiana's life but may be in the everyday activities the young girl would participate in.It is understood that on Friday night the night before her body was discovered Rhiana was attending the youth group meeting at her church, the Radnor Road Christian Fellowship.
Anyone with information should contact CrimeStoppers on: 1 800 623-8477 or the Serious Crime Unit on 299-4315.
