Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd., a global provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, has announced the promotion of David V. Cabral to executive vice president, Excess Casualty and Professional Liability. In his new position, Mr. Cabral will be responsible for leading these key divisions as they expand their presence in the marketplace.
Mr. Cabral, who has over 20 years of insurance expertise, joined Endurance last March as senior vice president, Excess General Liability. Prior to joining Endurance, Mr. Cabral served as vice president, FinPro at Marsh USA where he oversaw program design, marketing and client servicing. Mr. Cabral also has held senior positions at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, Starr Excess Liability Insurance Company and Aon.
"David committed himself and his team to firmly establishing Endurance's General Liability area," said Ken LeStrange, chairman and CEO of Endurance. "Now a respected choice in the market, the area continues to thrive under his direction. The expansion of his responsibilities to Excess Casualty and Professional Liability was a natural progression for a talented and dedicated leader," LeStrange concluded.
Mr. Cabral received his BA in Development Economics and Politics, and is in the process of obtaining his MA in Economics and Politics of Asia Pacific.
Also at Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd., Ronald H. Koch, has been named senior vice president, Casualty Reinsurance.
An underwriter of traditional and specialty casualty insurance for the past 30 years, Mr. Koch oversees Endurance's Casualty Reinsurance segment.
Kenneth LeStrange, chairman and CEO of Endurance said: "Ron is a seasoned, extremely skilled underwriting professional with extensive experience in both primary and reinsurance products. He is an integral part of the management team that will make Endurance a long-term, high-performance player in the global marketplace."
Mr. Koch was previously an underwriting consultant at Gerling Global Financial Products. Prior to that, he was 2nd vice president, Casualty Treaty Underwriting at Employers Reinsurance Corporation where he managed a $200 million book of casualty treaty business that included higher hazard working layer and excess business. He also spent 18 years at Swiss Reinsurance America, where he was a Vice President, Casualty Treaty Underwriting. Early in his career, Mr. Koch also served as Commercial and Casualty Supervisor at Home Insurance Company.
IT professional Sean Wallbridge has joined Bermuda e-security company QuoVadis as vice-president of special operations.
Mr. Wallbridge holds the Microsoft certified systems engineer and trainer qualifications and has co-authored several books on Microsoft solutions.
In addition, Mr. Wallbridge holds certifications for widely used IT products MAILsweeper, Citrix, Compaq and Checkpoint.

Meyer-Franklin Travel yesterday announced that team members from the company will move into their new premises at 35 Church Street to join the rest of the Meyer-Franklin Travel team on October 4. The Franklin office will be closed from 12 noon today to enable the team to move. The company merger was completed on October 1.
Meyer-Franklin Travel president Patti Daly Franklin said: "This is the final move in a very exciting and historic merger. Customers will now be able to find their favourite travel consultant and expert assistance all at one location. We look forward to welcoming them to our new offices on Church Street."
