New Beauty Therapist
Former Bersalon student Rio Gilbert returned to Bermuda a few months ago after studying beauty therapy in the UK at Harrogate College, Hornbeam Park, North Yorkshire. During her time in the UK Ms Gilbert studied all aspects of beauty therapy including mechanical and electrical body treatments, aromatherapy, face and skin conditioning electrical treatments, massage therapy, diatherapy and blend methods of depilatory work.
On returning to Bermuda, Ms Gilbert, 25, spent several weeks with Bersalon undergoing in-house education and spa orientation. She also studied for her Guinot of Paris qualification in hydradermie facial treatments and product knowledge. She also qualified as a Jessica Upscale Nail Systems operator.
Ms Gilbert is now a fully qualified graduate beauty therapist to Bersalon Systems and Standards and is a member of the beauty therapy staff at the Spa at Sonesta Beach Resort.
Bersalon company president Michael Ternet says that Ms Gilbert has shown herself to be a dedicated beauty therapist who applied herself well to her studies whilst overseas and who also kept him up to date with regular letters of her progress at college.
As a fully qualified UK trained beauty therapist, Ms Gilbert's career objectives will go full steam ahead next year, when after completing a further year with Bersalon, she plans to seek further adventures overseas, working on board cruise ships so that she can experience working under pressure in a very close team while travelling the world.
