Move to resolve golf club row
A new committee is to be set up to try to resolve the row over the proposed sale of land at Riddell?s Bay Golf and Country Club Members have been shocked at the proposed sale of three plots of land for $4.5 million to stave off debts ? reportedly exceeding $1 million last year.
One golf club member and resident said he doubted the need for the sale and said most members were against it.
He said the development would also be impractical because of lack of access.
?It?s a small road, therefore the traffic would have to go through the golf course. It would be detrimental to both the golf course and the neighbourhood.? understands a consultant will be hired to assess the state of the club and how it fits into the Bermuda golf scene. A committee of ten people will be set up to guide the future direction of the club but the winners of the elections held on Tuesday night have yet to be announced.
