Man pleads guilty to unlawful assault
car and then punched her when she stopped, a court was told yesterday.
Tucker, of Glebe Road, Glebe Hill Apartments, Pembroke, appeared before Magistrates' Court charged with unlawful assault.
He pleaded guilty to the charge but acting Senior Magistrate Cheryl Ann Mapp adjourned sentence to October 3 for a probation report.
Yesterday Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette told the court that on September 22 last year Danniel Simmons was driving her car when Tucker rode up alongside and started a verbal dispute. He then spat at her.
"They both stopped and the defendant punched the woman in her face,'' added Sgt. Mouchette.
Tucker told the court that he had earlier been "provoked'' by Miss Simmons.
"She had been provoking me for some time,'' he said.
However Mrs. Mapp said: "The manner in which you dealt with this was entirely inappropriate. You need to control your temper so you deal with these situations without violence.'' Tucker was released on $500 bail with a like surety.
