Police arrested a suspected drink driver after his car smashed into a tree near a Hamilton restaurant.
The late-night smash happened outside the Mediterraneo restaurant, Church Street, at about 3.45 a.m. yesterday morning.
Officers were called to reports of a car seen travelling at high speed in the Bermudiana Road area, near Splash nightclub. After searching the city they found the vehicle had crashed into a tree.
A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said the driver, thought to be in his late 20s, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. He was later arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
