The gangs and us

January 30, 2013Dear Sir,I read an article from Christopher Famous which was both funny yet serious. It was saying: 'Who helped create the gangs? We Did!' and it was right to the point. If we allow the youths to do whatever they want when they're young, what else do you expect them to do as they get older?Although some have tried to get the child involved in religious service when young, if they lose interest (and unfortunately some do) they'll meet up with others who want that 'independence' from civilisation and become more and more of a menace than anything else. In other words they think they rule Bermuda.Speaking of ruling (and this is the funny part), you have the Black Gang, the White Gang linking up with the Portuguese Gang, some Hispanics possibly linking with the Black Gang, the Curvy Girl Gang not liking the Skinny Girl Gang, The BIU Gang becoming partners with the BPSU and any other Union Gang and so on. We ourselves need to come together as one if we're to fight the battle which continues on the streets. Who cares if it's only blacks these people seem to target, next they could get tired and target a Filipino, or a Portuguese person, or a white guy, then what? All of a sudden you call in the Regiment (because a white guy now gets shot?) What about tackling the problem now? What about the Governor stepping in more, the Police Commissioner and others who ought to be upping security? What about banning the main source: dark visor helmets forever.CHRISTOPHER FAMOUS IS ONTO SOMETHINGDevonshire
