Under-19s unbeaten in US tourney

A Bermuda Under-19 select team finished undefeated in their first appearance at the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Island team's appearance in the competition marked the first time an international side had competed in the CASL, which is a recruitment ground for over 400 universities and colleges.

They romped to a 3-1 win over Andromedia 92 Reds on Saturday with goals from Terryn Fray and two penalties from skipper Troy Tucker.

Bermuda drew 3-3 against Gainesville Caimans on Friday with Casey Castle, Terryn Fray and Anthony Hunter all on target for Scott Morton's side.

In their opening game, also on Friday, Morton's side were held 0-0 by Harpeth Hurricanes FC.

Bermuda Football Association (BFA) national academy head coach Scott Morton, assistant coach Richard North, Bermuda Schools Sports Federation (BSSF) administrator Manny Faria and senior education officer Darrin Lewis accompanied the team on the trip.

Lewis said Bermuda's players had attracted plenty of interest from overseas university and college scouts.

Bermuda squad: Jaylon Bather, Troy Tucker, Tariq Sabir, Tahj Bell, Aaron Nelson, Rakeem DeShields, Corey Richardson, Anthony Hunter, Dante Leverock, Casey Castle, Nelson Smith, Daniel Andrade, Jah-Quille Stowe, Erin Simons, Terryn Fray and Tristan Hall.
