Two men have been charged with a machete attack at a family event at Southampton Rangers.Sergio Woolridge Robinson, 21, and D'Angelo Clarke, 21, were both charged on Friday with wounding Joshua Place with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in an incident on Good Friday, April 6.They were further charged with possessing an offensive weapon, namely a machete, on the same date. The matter must be heard by the Supreme Court, so neither defendant was required to enter a plea.Mr Place was reportedly set upon by a group of young men in the daylight attack, suffering stab wounds to his arm and buttocks, cuts to his wrist and the back of his head and a fractured left arm.Following bail applications by Elizabeth Christopher and Charles Richardson, representing Mr Robinson and Mr Clarke respectively, Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released both defendants on $15,000 bail each, with a like surety. As part of bail conditions Mr Warner also ordered both men to obey a curfew between 9pm and 6am, to be enforced by electronic monitoring devices, and ordered them not to interfere with the complainants or other witnesses. The matter will return to Magistrates' Court for mention on July 13.
