Jewellery, bananas stolen
stolen in a spate of thefts over the past few days.
Last week, Police reported, two separate tourist accommodations were broken into and a collection of valuables stolen.
At one -- a Smith's Parish hotel -- a handbag, cash and personal effects went missing after a guest room was entered during the afternoon or evening, while in the other incident a second offender stole cash and jewellery "of valuable amounts'' after entering a Hamilton Parish hotel room as the occupants slept.
Between April 7 and 13, meanwhile, thieves were reported to have taken a water pump and bananas from a South Shore Road shop in Paget.
The pump was described as "a business requirement, and will be costly to replace.'' Police officers are also looking into an attempted robbery that reportedly took place on Somerset Road in Sandys.
In that incident, a 17-year-old from Sandys told Police he was approached at a bus stop by two youths in their early teens who demanded money from him. When he refused, he said, they pushed him and searched his pockets but eventually left the area when they found nothing.
