Police have released two suspects held in connection with the double murder of Ricco Furbert and Haile Outerbridge last month.Detective Inspector Nick Pedro said: “Whilst we had hoped to obtain a full range of forensic results by the conclusion of the detention period of both men, this was not possible.“The Bermuda Police Service is reliant on our overseas forensic partners in this process.“Following consultation with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, a decision has been made to admit both men to bail with strict reporting conditions whilst we continue progressing the evidence in this case.“We do no comment on specifics of any investigation, and will not in this case either, however important avenues of investigation continue to progress.”Mr Furbert, 25, and Mr Outerbridge, 34, were gunned down inside Belvin’s Variety on Happy Valley Road, Pembroke on January 23.One suspect was arrested after he turned himself in at a police station the following day; a second man was arrested on January 25.Police applied to Supreme Court on January 29 for permission to hold the men in custody without charge while officers continued their investigation. The Supreme Court gave permission to hold one suspect for 12 days, and the second for 13. Those extensions ended on Sunday and Monday.Yesterday Mr Pedro appealed for the continued assistance of the public into the investigation.“Police are particularly anxious to remove the threat from gun violence in our community,” he said.Anyone with information about the shooting or the firearm involved is asked to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739 or the independent and anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
