Women golfers face off in regional tournament

One of the region's top tournaments for amateur women golfers will be hosted by Bermuda next week.The 27th annual Kitty Michael Golf Tournament will be held on the Island from April 26-29 at Mid Ocean and Tucker's Point golf clubsThis prestigious event will see 83 players coming from Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Canada as well as from various clubs in the USA.

One of the region's top tournaments for amateur women golfers will be hosted by Bermuda next week.

The 27th annual Kitty Michael Golf Tournament will be held on the Island from April 26-29 at Mid Ocean and Tucker's Point golf clubs

This prestigious event will see 83 players coming from Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Canada as well as from various clubs in the USA.

Each team consists of between three and ten players with official winners being determined by the total best three net and three gross scores over 54 holes.

Bermuda will be represented by Valerie Nearon (captain), Katyna Rabain (vice captain), Pat Morgan, Wendy Salvia, Ann Mitchell, Susie Elton, Carol Hammond, Ann Symonds, Tracy Nash and Katrin Bernie.

The tournament was the brainstorm of Kitty Michael to promote and develop friendship and social amateur competitive golf among Caribbean women. Subsequently teams from the USA and Canada were invited to participate.
