Women’s A LeagueSwallows A 1 Wildcats A 1Wildcats’ Susanna Almeida gave her team the lead in the 26th minute scoring for a penalty corner, but two –minutes later Swallows’ Hannah Ellison evened the score from a field goal.Budgies A 0 Ravens A 0In the first few minutes of the game, Budgies were awarded a penalty corner, but the shot from Budgies’ Keishae Robinson went wide.A last minute run up the field by Budgies’ Lakae Dill saw a last attempt to score but her pass could not find Jaselle Smith on the left corner post.The match was very tight with both teams creating many chances but neither could find the net.Women’s B LeagueBluebirds B 2 Canaries B 0Bluebirds’ Laura Bardgett finally found the back of the net from a well executed penalty corner in the 40th minute of the second half.An infraction on the goal line prevented a goal being scored by left winger Denise O’Donoghue and Bluebirds were rewarded with a penalty.Bluebirds’ captain Kris Soares made no mistake by placing the ball in the far right corner to make the score 2-0.Canaries were later awarded a penalty for a similar infraction, but Bluebirds’ goalkeeper Carla Pedro made a save.Men’s LeaguePanthers 5 Polecats 2Panthers’ Phil Philpott gave his team the lead seconds into the game with a field goal.But Polecats’ Donnie Simmons levelled the score in the 19th minute.Panthers took the lead again in the 40th minute through Tony Ward and before Jack Finlay added another in the 52nd minute.David Horan scored a –penalty corner in the 59th minute and Justin Barritt a field goal in the 65th minute to make it 5-1 for Panthers. Polecats reduced the deficit when Andrew Brouwer scored from a penalty corner in the 66th minute.Chameleons 1 Rebels 2Chameleons started very ragged with a 10 man team which the Rebels took advantage of with David Gutteridge converting a short corner in the 17th minute.Robin Smallman found an equaliser for the Chameleons though after latching onto a hard pass towards the Rebels ‘D’ which scattered their defence.Rebels bounced back –however with Bert Rodney grabbing the winner in the 63rd minute.
