Boy recovering from fall
A nine-year-old boy is recovering in the Gosling Ward of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital today after plummeting off a 30-foot cliff on Sunday.
Witnesses to the accident told Police the boy had been riding his bike down a bank which leads to his house when he lost control and went over the edge.
Officers who responded to the scene found the child and his bike at the bottom of the cliff located off North Shore Road in Pembroke.
He was conscious but appeared to be in great discomfort and a witness to the accident was tending to him.
Marine Police attended the scene along with ambulances and the Fire Service as the boy landed in an area inaccessible by foot.
The three services co-operated to bring the boy to hospital where last night officials reported he was in satisfactory condition with non-life threatening injuries.
