Leaders face a stiff test
Championships enters its fourth round at Coney Island Race track (noon).
With the point spread varying from seven-29 for first and second, and two-33 for second and third, one slip and first place may well be gone.
Rookie rider Kellen Lewis will be looking to firm up his spot atop the 50cc Class, but would do well to be aware of reigning national champion Zahkie Iris, who stands third, but has shown his great ability with 21 wins this year.
Zahkie McIntosh, with nine wins so far this year, has a healthy lead over Jonte Smith, who has continually found himself on the short end.
For the second year running Garry Cann is dominating the 80cc Class, and looks likely to do so again this weekend, with closest rival, Aaron Cannonier, nursing an injury.
The `C' class sees Gary Blackwell, Melinie Munro and Anthony Grant locked in a three-way battle for honours, with Blackwell currently in the lead spot followed by Munro and Grant.
Cavon Perichief holds down first place in 125 Class, but the impending return of Ashley Simmons is a mortal threat to his position, while Jerome Dowling provides yet another menace.
Ironically, the Bermuda Regiment is likely to actually slow the advance of Jamel Hassell among the 125 `B' Class, just don't expect Craig Panchaud to express any sympathy.
The BACU is seeking flagmen to work on the track each race day, with benefits to include free admission.
Those interested should contact any club official for details.
