Women’s ‘B’ DivisionBluebirds 1Swallows 2Amanda Correia scored the winning goal as Swallows beat Bluebirds.In what proved to be very difficult conditions with high winds and rain, Swallows took the lead in the 17th minute with a goal from Maria Dobinson.Bluebirds forward Tracy McPhee was able to pull a field goal back in the 56th minute, but Swallows had the final say when Correia scored seconds later.Cardinals 7Longtail/Canaries 0Denise Downey scored four goals as Cardinals dismantled Longtails/Canaries.The first goal came in the 15th minute from a ball collected by Amori Venter who dribbled it into the circle to find Downey who made no mistake.Five minutes later another slip to Downey from Adrien Lewis saw the ball in the back of the net again before Katie Flath grabbed her first goal in the 25th to put the side up three.Downey would score her hat-trick in the 28th, while Venter got on the scoresheet in the 44th.Three minutes later it would be Lewis who would dribble into the circle to score a field goal from a very awkward angle.Cardinals rounded off the scoring in the 57th minute from a text book play that saw Downey grab her fourth and the side’s seventh.Women’s ‘A’ DivisionSwallows 0Ravens 2Goals from Jess McClure and Megan Troake were enough to hand Ravens the win over Swallows.McClure opened the scoring in the 47th minute before Troake made the points safe in the 69th.Wildcats 1Canaries 2Mary-Ellen Jackson scored the winner as Canaries beat Wildcats.Lisa Marshall gave Canaries the lead in the 15th minute, but the Wildcats drew level through Susanna Almeida in the 28th.Jackson then scored the winning goal shortly before the break to snatch maximum points for her club.Men’s DivisionRebels 1Upstarts 3Upstarts had three goal scorers in their win over Rebels.Gareth Tavares gave his team the lead in the eighth minute, before John Thompson doubled the lead in the 27th minute.Bruce Smith put the side up by three in the 47th minute, while Martin McHugh scored the lone Rebels goal in the 55th.Panthers 2Chameleons 3Chameleons held off Panthers for a hard fought win.Tony Ward gave Panthers the lead when he neatly slotted home in the ninth minute.Neil Mountford drew Chameleons level when he made no mistakes from close range in the 11th minute.In the 16th, the league’s leading goal scorer Richard Cox stamped his authority on the match to put Chameleons ahead for the first time.Not to be outdone, Panthers found an equaliser through Ward in the 57th to grab his second of the match.The winner came five minutes from time when Cox stepped up to rifle home and earn the points for Chameleons.
