Coronavirus cases from single BA flight up to 10

Two more passengers from a British Airways flight have tested positive for the coronavirus, the Government said today.

The new victims brought the total number of confirmed cases after the October 27 arrival from London to ten.

They were the only positive results out of 834 received by the Ministry of Health yesterday.

A ministry spokeswoman said: “These cases are visitors who are asymptomatic, tested positive on their day 8 test and had negative pre-arrival tests, arrival tests and day 4 tests.

“There have now been ten cases from this flight and all additional passengers were placed under quarantine from 4 November 2020 through 10 November 2020.”

Bermuda now has 209 total confirmed cases and 19 are active – seven visitors and 14 returned residents, with none in hospital.

A total of nine people with Covid-19 have died and 181 people have recovered from the coronavirus.

The virus has been detected in people aged between 7 and 101.

Bermuda’s country status remained “sporadic cases”.

The seven-day average of the real time reproduction number is less than 1.
