He also denied touching the body of a young person -- for sexual purposes -- on three separate occasions with three different girls, in Hamilton Parish between May 29 and June 30 this year, on June 29 in Smith's Parish and finally between June 1 and July 2.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis granted the man bail in the sum of $2,000 with a like surety on the condition that he have no contact with any of the females.

The losses come from money normally earned from sailors who bring their yachts to Bermuda during the autumn months while travelling south to the Caribbean where they spend the winter.

Last month 54 yachts arrived in Bermuda, down from the 93 yachts which arrived in October, 1994.

Mayor of St. George's the Wor. Henry Hayward estimated yachts visiting Bermuda normally had about four people on board. These people each paid $15 per head on arrival and then spent approximately $200 apiece on provisions and entertainment.

St. George's Yacht Reporting Centre's spokesman Mr. Larry Brangman said people were bypassing Bermuda and sailing direct to Key West and Miami this year because of the hurricanes which have devastated many Caribbean islands.

RIDER INJURED AC Rider injured A 41-year-old man was in stable condition in hospital yesterday after suffering serious facial injuries in a road accident.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward. The man, who also broke his arm and leg, was injured when his Suzuki motorcycle was in collision with a car around 11 p.m. on Friday.

The accident happened at the junction of Horseshoe Road and Palm Valley Road in Southampton.

The identity of the man has not been released. The 45-year-old car driver was uninjured.

MEN ARRESTED CTS Men arrested Two men were arrested at the weekend in connection with stolen motorcycles.

A 37-year-old Pembroke man, allegedly riding a PGO Galaxy scooter with false number plates, was arrested on Court Street at about 10 p.m. on Saturday night.

It is alleged the cycle had been stolen the previous night.

And a 46-year-old St George's man was arrested after allegedly struggling violently with Police after being stopped on Kindley Field Road.

Officers pulled the man over on suspicion of driving a stolen livery cycle.

The man claimed he was an employee of the livery company and allegedly lost his temper and lashed out at the Policemen.

PASSENGER HELD CRM Passenger held Police arrested a passenger on the Queen Elizabeth 2 this week for possessing "a substantial quantity'' of cocaine.

Customs and Police narcotics officers found the drugs when they searched the 30-year-old Jamaican woman who arrived on the cruise ship on Wednesday afternoon.

The woman was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court in the near future.

POLICE CLEAN-UP ENV Police clean-up A group of Somerset Police officers have decided to clean up their own backyard.

They will be collecting trash and cleaning up the area around Cambridge Road in Sandys next Wednesday from 8 a.m.
