Flowers yesterday piled up near where murdered Canadian schoolgirl Becky Middleton's bloodstained body was found.

In addition to floral tributes from Bermudians, flowers from her family and host on the Island, Jasmine Meens, were laid around a tree on Ferry Road, St.

George's.

Ms Meens' bunch of flowers bore a card which said: "You're my best friend and always will be. I will never forget you, ever.

"You were a bright girl and a happy girl. I will remember you. When I look at the stars I know you are looking down on us all. Love ever and ever, Amen, Jay.'' A P.s. read: "I'm sorry. (Time marches on).'' A bouquet of roses from Becky's seperated parents said simply: "To Becky, love, Mum and Dad.'' Ms Middleton was two weeks into a six-week stay with Ms Meens at the home of her father Rick in Smith's Parish when she was raped and stabbed to death.

Her naked body was found in the early hours of last Wednesday morning by a passing motorist.

She and her friend had both accepted lifts from black men on motorcycles in the Mullet Bay Road area.

Ms Meens arrived home safely -- Ms Middleton was never seen alive again.

On the back of his daughter's card, Mr. Meens wrote: "Although we only knew each other for less than two weeks I am so glad to have met you hear on earth and look forward to seeing you in heaven.'' Others said: "From the Oscar's crew. We love you, Becky'' and there also flowers from Horizons and Cottages.

And a sign next to the little shrine read: "Becky, you will not be forgotten.'' Ms Middleton's funeral will be held at Belleville's Bridge Street United Church tomorrow morning.

The tributes came as a 12-man, 24-hour-a-day Police probe into the brutal sexual assault and stabbing of the 17-year-old entered its sixth day.

A Police spokesman yesterday said no arrests had yet been made in connection with the Belleville, Ontario, girl's murder.
