Police spokeswoman Evelyn James Barnett said the boy was watching a school event in the area of Barracks Hill, St. George's when he was approached by two other students.

They rifled through his pockets and asked him what he was carrying but he did not reply.

The pair allegedly began to punch him in the face. He was unable to defend himself as one of his arms was in a sling.

The student -- who is understood to attend St. George's Secondary School -- suffered bruising and swelling to his face. One of his eyes was also injured and he complained of blurry vision.

But while he could not defend himself, he was able to identify both assailants -- who were also from St. George's -- and Police investigations are underway.

A 40-year-old man told Police that while he was waiting for the bus at the Washington Street terminal last week he was kicked in the buttocks by two schoolboys who then searched his pockets for money without success.

Police were called to a road traffic accident involving a taxi and a motorcycle on Saturday evening.

Shortly after 7 p.m. a taxi, driven by a 63-year-old Sandy's man, was exiting from Sonesta Drive onto South Road when it was involved in a collision with a westbound cycle driven by a 21-year-old Southampton man.

The cycle rider rode off from the scene but not before leaving his passenger, who sustained a bruised hip, behind on the road. The passenger was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Shortly before midnight on Friday Police on mobile patrol in the Palmetto Road, Devonshire, area spotted three youths pushing two motorcycles.

When officers stopped to investigate one of the youths took off across Palmetto Road into some trees, making good his escape. The remaining two left the bikes and attempted to escape but were unsuccessful. The youths were arrested on the suspicion of cycle theft.
