Goater injury blow
Shaun Goater is doubtful for Reading's clash with high-flying West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
The Bermudian striker, who played an integral role in Reading's 1-0 win over Millwall in Division One on Saturday, picked up a knock during that game and was nursing his injury yesterday.
Goater did not score on Saturday but played a through ball to Steve Sidwell who crossed for John Salako to hit the back of the net.
The 33-year-old was replaced by Bas Savage in the 75th minute in what was originally thought to be a tactical switch.
However, Reading physio Jon Fearn cast doubt on that assumption yesterday.
“Shaun Goater has a swollen knee from Saturday's game,” he said. “And we'll be monitoring him over the next few days before deciding whether he can play at West Brom.”
