Dunkley to jump-start Father’s Day events
Premier Michael Dunkley will jump-start a weekend of Father’s Day activities.
The Premier will deliver a Father’s Day Proclamation at City Hall tomorrow, encouraging the Island’s fathers to fulfil their role. Proceedings will officially commence with an opening prayer by Apostle Jimmie Dinwiddle.
City of Hamilton Mayor Graeme Outerbridge will address those in attendance while Bermuda Bishop Nicolas Dill, Juan Wolf, Dr Glenn Faries and Russ Ford will be among the guest speakers.
The event is being organised by Gina Spence Productions in Christ.
Weekend Father’s Day activities continue on Sunday with the ‘We Love You Dad’ fashion and talent show at the Willowbank Conference Centre.
That event, which begins at 7pm, will be a tribute to fathers as well as a major fundraiser for the ‘Champions Programme’, which provides educational scholarships, school attire, counselling and healthy food for children affected by gun violence.
The show will also feature an awards ceremony honouring local organisations that provide support to fathers and young males, the Gina Spence Productions in Christ 2014 Father of the Year presentation, a father and son fashion show as well as a variety of on-stage dance, song poetry and drama performances.
Adult tickets are $35, children under 12 tickets are $15 and are available from www.bdatix.com, Pulp and Circumstances in Washington Mall, Fabulous Fashion and Heron Bay Plaza.
