The Sunday Swiss Teams bridge event at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel, in which 216 players took part, saw further Bermudian success.

The top A/X Flight was won by a six-man team including Jean Johnson and Joe Wakefield from Bermuda and Bill Souster from Wales, who spent many years in Bermuda, during which time he taught bridge classes at the Bermuda Bridge Club.

The X section was won by an almost all-Bermudian team of Barry Rahman, David Pereira, Alan Douglas and Ian Harvey. Mr. Harvey left Bermuda recently but returned to play with his partner Alan Douglas. The B and D flights were also won by Bermudian teams, consisting of John Burville, Charles Hall, Tony Saunders and David Cordon (B flight) and John Rayner, Stephen Cosham, Gordon Bussell and Dick Meredith (D flight). George and Sandra Ogden and Dan and Jane McCleary also came first in the Junior events held on Sunday afternoon and evening respectively.
