Tucker's Point Resort in talks with Government

Tucker's Point Resort president Ed Trippe said the hotel is in discussions with Government over proposed developments at the hotel.Mr Trippe stressed the discussions were in the “very early stages” and there was very little to say as nothing had been decided. He said they were discussing several options and declined to say if it would involve building additional private residences or fractionals.BEST Chairman Stuart Hayward has claimed a proposal was made to Government for a Special Development Order, which negates the need for normal planning permission, to start construction. Government did not respond to a request for comment.Previously Government has denied they are considering an SDO.In December former Cabinet Secretary Marc Telemaque said: “No SDO has been finalised, prepared for the consideration of the Minister responsible or Cabinet. As such, the nature of any story and apparent releases from BEST et al are purely speculative and in fact so premature as to be unreliable.
