Tucker makes life easy for Rangers
Cleveland County 111; Southampton Rangers 117-4
Wicketkeeper-batsman Kwame Tucker smashed a whirlwind half century and swing bowler Ryan Belboda gathered a five wicket haul as visiting Southampton Rangers whipped ten-men Cleveland by six wickets to keep their slim Premier Division title hopes alive at Wellington Oval on Saturday.
The host team were made to rue their decision to bat first after winning the toss as Belboda ripped the heart out of Cleveland's brittle order on the way to superb figures of five for 29 off ten overs that included two maidens.
Promoted to number four, Tamuari Tucker led the Cleveland resistance with a battling 28 while tailender Dwayne Leverock hit an unbeaten 18 before the hosts were removed in the 36th over.
Cleveland were 24 without loss at one stage but slipped to 35 for six as Belboda cut loose.
Rangers lost four wickets in reply but were never in any danger of completely losing their way as a 55 run stand between Tucker and veteranbatsman Stevie Lightbourne kept the visitors firmly on course.
Tucker, who remained unbeaten, made Cleveland pay dearly after being dropped on 13 as he went on to bang four sixes and six fours during a belligerent knock 55 off 33 balls.
Lightbourne, who was also dropped early in his innings, hit an equally robust 33 off 46 deliveries that included four fours and a six.
Left- arm spinner Leverock (two for 26) led the Cleveland bowling.
