Man denies indecent acts
A 26-year-old man has denied carrying out indecent acts in Hamilton’s Washington Mall.
The accused, from Sandys, appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning and pleaded not guilty to five charges.
Prosecutor Garrett Byrne alleged that on September 8, the accused committed an indecent act in public at the Washington Mall, committed the act in the presence of a child, and intruded on the privacy of a woman which caused her alarm.
The defendant was also accused of committing an indecent act in public at Washington Mall on September 9, and intruding on the privacy of a woman which caused her alarm.
Magistrate Juan Wolffe set the case for mention on September 30 and released the defendant into the custody of his parents so he could continue treatment at the Mid Atlantic Wellness Institute.
He was ordered to take all medication prescribed by his doctors and not to be in public or in the presence of others without either his mother, father or a responsible adult designated by them. He was told to abide to a curfew of 7pm until 7am and to stay away from Washington Mall.
