Driver was more than four times over the legal drink/drive limit
A drink driver had more than four times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood when Police stopped him on North Shore last November, Magistrates' Court heard.
Arthur Broadley, 54, was stopped after a Police car followed him along Langton Hill and onto North Shore Road on November 11 at about 7.15 p.m.
They watched him swerve over the yellow line a number of times and reported he had red, glazed eyes.
Broadley, of Lookout Lane, Pembroke, told the arresting officers: "You're going to arrest me? Can you let me go home and ride behind me?'' He added that he had drank a few glasses of wine earlier.
A breath analyser test revealed Broadney's alcohol/blood level was 339 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Broadley was fined $1,000 and disqualified from driving all motor vehicles by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner.
