The woman said she had been upstairs all that morning, and was preparing to leave the residence in the afternoon.

However, when she looked for her purse, which she had left in the dining room, she discovered that it had been removed. The purse contained several credit cards, debit cards, and personal papers.

Police also attended the Shoe Centre on Court Street, Pembroke at 3.35 a.m., where they found that someone had smashed open the front window of the shop.
