A volunteer committee calling themselves The Friends of the Hospice is holding a two-hour African fashion show and brunch at Warwick Camp dining room tomorrow beginning at noon.

The show will feature the Empress Menen Dancers and Mandela Freedom Drummers.

Tickets are $25.

And on Friday at Dockyard, the West End Development Corporation and Clocktower tenants will hold a jazz and fashion show.

For $15, patrons will be treated a variety of jazz music and fashion.

Complimentary wine and cheese will also be available.

The show will be held at the Clocktower from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m.

Yesterday, chairman of the fundraising committee Mr. Andrew Soares said this was just the beginning of fundrasing efforts.

He said a gospel concert, danceathon, and walkathon were among the committee's plans.

The money will go towards improving services at the 12-bed facility for the terminally ill.

He said it could also go toward obtaining more beds, wheelchairs, and computers.

The committee has already raised $2,000 from a bake sale in August and it has secured about $8,000 for the purchase of a $14,000 van.

Mr. Soares said the group of five to 10 volunteers could use more help. Anyone wishing to help can contact hospice coordinator Mrs. Hillary Soares at 236-2345.
