allowing almost certain victory to slip away.

The Commercial Division Group A side, which has raised a few eyebrows with some good early season form, found themselves 2-0 up well into the second half of their match against defending champions BAA Wanderers only to lose 3-2.

Goals by Stuart Drake and Rob Newman gave KPMG a solid lead, but Wanderers showed remarkable poise to come back on the heels of strikes from Andy Powell and Alister Smith (two).

BAA thus retained their perfect record, while KPMG lost their first points of the season after two earlier victories.

Meanwhile, Spinning Wheel kept the heat on the leaders in moving to six points from three matches, trailing only by virtue of inferior goal difference, as they outlasted Forties 2-0.

In a battle of the minnows at the west end, Somerset Extros garnered their first points since being promoted during a 2-0 conquest of cellar-dwellers Exiles.

Following a scoreless first half, Extros surged into the lead through a shot by Glenn Riley that appeared headed over the bar, but was parried into the net by the opposing goalkeeper.

Jerry-Lynn Simons supplied added insurance by completing a fine run on the right with a firm right-foot shot into the low right corner.

Exiles have yet to earn a single point or score in three matches, while allowing 10 goals and appear early candidates for relegation...a battle that has already begun.

Group B Devonshire Colts All-Stars put upstarts Genesis firmly in their place during a 5-1 shellacking at Frog Lane.

The veteran All-Stars used their guile and experience to full effect on their more youthful opponents, frustrating them in their movements and ball control.

Larry Benjamin had a field day for the victors, finding pay-dirt on four occasions while Jimmy Tweed scored once. Peter Sampson registered the lone tally for Genesis.

The remaining match had St. George's All-Stars and North Village Rams battling to a 2-2 draw.

Mickey Steede and Cal Richardson scored one each for St. George's, while Arthur Bean and Sheridan Smith netted for Rams.

Numerous hefty scorelines were registered in the Alliance Division with a total 24 goals being scored in Group A alone.

Somerset led the goal rush by virtue of a 8-1 thrashing of Devonshire Colts at Somerset.

The tone was set early as Curtis Grant and Clifton Anderson staked the Trojans to a 2-0 lead after five minutes through a pair of crackling strikes, Grant's coming on a 35-yard bullet and Anderson's a sweet volley of a right wing cross.

Those proved just a beginning as Armel Thomas and Dwight Basden added more fireworks in the form of hat-tricks to each player.

Similarly in a festive mood were North Village, evidenced by their 7-1 thrashing of St. George's.

Perpetrators of the act were Phillip Clarke and Sean Smith, each with two goals, and Tito Smith, Quincy Paynter and Wayne Augustus with one apiece.
