Two giants clashed in Mixed Clasic Bowling League action and when the dust cleared Pro Staff stood triumphant on account of a solid win over second place

Climbing the ladder to fifth place were East End Ashphalt who won 13-7 over Flager Street Gang behind Ed White's second series and game of 591 and 224.

In other matches Get Togethers downed Terrible Four 13-7 and Us Until won 12-8 over Four Star Pizza.

Big winners in the Mixed Majors Bowling League recently were E&C Well Drilling and Dolphins, who both posted 4-0 wins over their respective opponents.

Dolphins used a team high series 2089 to decimate Strikers in their match while E&C Well Drilling had the second high team series, 2063 and third high team game, 694, during their pummelling of Mix-Ups.

The three remaining matches all ended up in 3-1 wins for Dynamic Four, Untouchables and Troublemakers over Last Minutes, B's & G's and D&D Rollers.

HOCKEY HOC Defending A League champions North Village Longtails scored a slender 1-0 victory over rivals Coca-Cola on Sunday as action continued in the Bermuda Ladies Hockey League.

Lisa Rawlins notched the winning tally in the first half following up on a rebounded shot by Joanne Wilson.

The Cardinals attempted to retaliate but failed to do so although they did have a goal disallowed.

Meanwhile, Bluebirds showed their superiority with a well played 3-0 triumph over Coca-Coal Cardinals B as Georgina Adlam scored twice and Sarah Smith the other.

Games played on Saturday saw Police Orioles B down PHC Canaries B 1-0 with Marcia Ford scoring, and PHC Canaries A blast Police Orioles A 4-0.

Emma Garron spurred the onslaught for PHC, netting a hat-trick and new player Jacqui White got one goal.

BRIDGE BRI The Bermuda Regional Bridge tournament drew to a close Saturday with the Bermuda national team recording a remarkable come from behind win against a combined squad from the United States and Canada in the Knock Out Teams competition.

Bill Sousa, Alan Douglas, Ian Harvey and David Pereira formed an unbeatable quartet and will soon be off to Vancouver, Canada to compete against Canada and Mexico in the Tri-Country playoffs for the Bermuda Bowl Championships.

Meanwhile, action in other categories had Richard Burns, Lucy Sagalyn, Sarah Peeke and Sandra Nyman combining to take the Flight A Swiss Teams against a group from Canada.

In the Flight B final Charles Hall's troop downed a side led by Vera Petty and in Flight C Ethel Wells led her foursome to a similar triumph.

Ellasue Chaitt added another trophy to her growing collection while playing with Phyllis Wachsman in the Flighted Open Pairs.

The Stratified Pairs was won by Shorne Mukherjee and Bill Hunter and Flight B by Mike and Suzanne Monroy.

Bermuda was one-two in Flight C with Graham Fenton and Edna Clay seizing the championship trailed by Debbie Roberts and Graham Cordon.

The Norman Bach Trophy for the best local player went to David Pereira for the second time while Judy Bussell was named the best local novice. Bill Hunter won the Maud Lines Trophy as the leading overseas player.
