Police officer denies posting 'grossly offensive' meme

A suspended police officer today denied posting a “grossly offensive” message on social media.

Barbi Bishop, 43, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court to posting a meme on Facebook and Instagram that read “All Lives Splatter. Nobody cares about your protest. Keep your a** out of the road”.

The incident was alleged to have happened on June 3.

Ms Bishop, from Sandys, opted for trial in Magistrates’ Court rather than the Supreme Court.

The maximum penalties if convicted are a year in prison or a $25,000 fine or both.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo adjourned the case until November 30 and released Ms Bishop on $3,000 bail.
