Music students pass RCM examinations
distributed for local students who have participated in the Winter, Spring, and Summer examination sessions 2000.
Over 90 island students took part this year in the theoretical and practical exams.
Bermudian representative for the Royal Conservatory of Music, Marlene Campbell, said the Bermuda Centre was highly commended by the RCM's honorary chief examiner Mr. James Lawless, who adjudicated the practical exams last May.
Outstanding performances were given by the following students who earned First Class Honors with Distinction,(90 percent and over) from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
VIOLIN Grade VI, 92 percent, Belle Von Abrecht; Grade IV, 91 percent, Mathieu-Jeremie Boutet; Grade IV, 91 percent, Kelsey Ball; Grade II, 92 percent, Christine Allison; Grade I, Christopher Smith; 90 percent, Olivia Riley; 90 percent, Ambrose Gosling; PIANO Grade 1, 91 percent, Bradley Mitchell; 90 percent, Rebecca Kirkwood.
THEORY Grade 2, 96 percent, Jonathan McBeath; Grade 1, 100 percent, Jonathan McBeath; Preliminary Rudiments; 98 percent, Belle von Abrecht; 98 percent, Laura Ashton, 96 percent, Mathieu-Jeremie Boutet.
Excellent performances were also awarded First Class Honors ( 80 percent and over) to the following students.
