BIFF to launch kid?s fest
The Bermuda International Film Festival (BIFF) is set to launch a children?s version of the festival this October, organizers said yesterday.
The BIFF Kids festival will build on the success of the children?s programming which was added to BIFF three years ago.
The festival is slated to run October 16 and 17 at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
?I expect we will screen at least six, and possibly more, films over the two-day period,? said BIFF director Aideen Ratteray-Pryse.
?Our screenings of films suitable for children have been enormously successful.?
The festival will be sponsored by the Bank of Butterfield, which also sponsors the children?s films in the main festival.
?The film festival has become an important annual event in the Bermuda arts calendar and we are looking forward to BIFF Kids with the same sense of anticipation,? said Bank of Butterfield president and CEO Alan Thompson.
?Film has the potential to help enrich and enhance the cultural education of young people, and so we are delighted to support this exciting new project.?
