Hall joins Telford

On the move: goalkeeper Hall

Freddy Hall, the Bermuda goalkeeper, has joined his third English non-League team since the beginning of the season after signing a three-month contract with Telford United in the Vanarama Conference.

Hall joins Telford from Oxford City, who play in the league below, the Conference North, where he made two appearances — a 2-1 defeat away to Shortwood United and a 5-3 win away to Colwyn Bay.

The 29-year-old had hoped to be available for Telford’s match against Forest Green last night — a 1-0 home defeat — but his short-term deal was not completed in time.

It is understood that Hall always intended to use Oxford City as a springboard to gain more first-team action and improve his chances of earning a No 1 spot at a Football League club.

He started the season at Chester, also in the Vanarama Conference, where he made four appearances before parting ways with the club after a permanent deal collapsed. Hall had been playing without pay in an attempt to earn a contract at the Deva Stadium.

The former St George’s player, who endured a frustrating three-month spell warming the bench last season at Burton Albion, the Sky Bet League Two side, could make his debut for Telford away to Lincoln City on Saturday.

Hall, who has won six caps for Bermuda, has gained some first-team experience over the past few years, playing 11 matches for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer during the 2012 season.

He also made three appearances for League Two side Northampton Town in the 2011-12 campaign.

Telford, who gained promotion to the Vanarama Conference last season, are presently bottom of the league after shipping more goals than any other side in England’s top five divisions.
