One bill on House agenda

Just one bill will be debated by the Island's parliamentarians when the House of Assembly resumes its work today.

The bill, which proposes amendments to the Segregated Accounts Companies Act, should be extensively debated according to ruling party whip Ottiwell Simmons. "It is assumed the Opposition will be extremely interested in it. It's one of those matters with which the Opposition Leader Dr. Grant Gibbons is somewhat familiar and therefore there is likely to be an interesting toe-to-toe debate between the two," Mr. Simmons said.

The bill is designed to meet the needs of international business, he added. Nine ministerial statements are also scheduled.
