E-commerce company seeks new technology director
A new Bermuda-based electronic commerce company, Review Worldwide Ltd., is seeking a new director of technology to help expand its business.
The company, which sells videos, cads, computer software and games over the Internet, has advertised the post in The Royal Gazette .
The business was set up in January this year and the boom in selling music over the Internet has seen the company grow sufficiently to take on new senior staff. The site, called reviewstore.com, has extensive reviews on all of its pages with the latest, music, movies and software.
The colourful pages also have an extensive back catalogue, and there is a handy currency converter. There is also a facility to listen to music. The company advertised for a vice president of operations in January, and has gone from strength to strength since then.
The new Bermuda-based director will oversee technical development of the company as well as its expansion. The post holder will be expected to maintain an e-commerce platform, incorporate new technology into the site and make sure the electronic shop is constantly up and running.
The directory will also have to help maintain and update the security system which allows customers to safely purchase goods with credit cards. The advert states: "The ideal candidate will have an extensive understanding of online e-commerce principles and will be an expert in Windows NT, SQL, Server 7.0, IIS 4.0 and Site Server. We also expect the ideal candidate to have a proven background in ASP, VB, database design, SQL functions, security, server sizing, project scoping and e-commerce and payment component platforms.'' The post is a senior and although no salary is quoted, the advert states that the package will reflect the responsibilities of the job.
The advert added: "This is an excellent opportunity to join an Internet retail company and expand the organisation globally''. As would be expected in the electronic age, all curriculum vitaes, references and covering letters will only be accepted by e-mail and the advert states "no phone enquiries will be accepted''.
