New accounting software launched
The Carillon accounting software is being introduced to Bermuda tomorrow at a lunchtime launch from 12pm to 1.30pm at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess. The Journal of Accountancy, listed Carillon as one of the 10 leading ERP (enterprise resource planning) packages.Carillon president Latrry Pettit said the launch would give attendees a brief demonstration of the software and how Carillon shapes up against one of its main ERP rivals, Great Plains.“One of the benefits of the software is real-time information,” Mr Pettit said. “You can get financial information whenever you want it.“It usually makes the companies that use it more efficient, because they need fewer people to perform existing tasks and they can use those people to do more meaningful tasks.”Dalla-based Mr Pettit said he’d been selling Carillon in the US for 17 years and added that additional capabilities could be added to the core product to suit users’ needs.Bermudian Derek Theisen, of Financial Technologies Ltd, will be Carillon’s representative in Bermuda.Carillon supports the leading technologies including database support for Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, IBM DB2, and Oracle. For more information on tomorrow’s launch, visit http://www.carillonerp.com/bermuda.html
