Police are planning to crack down on people parking in bus stops and warn that offenders will be ticketed.

A Police spokesman said officers have noticed a growing number of private cars, private transit vans, Government service vehicles, vendors and their patrons parking in bus stops.

The spokesman said the practice is unsafe as it puts the lives of people riding the bus at risk and causes major congestion on the roads.

"The Police Service will be ever vigilant and offending vehicles will be ticketed," the spokesman said.

Thieves strike

Thieves broke into the Mid-Atlantic Boat Club and stole bottles of rum, beer and snacks. A Police spokesman said the incident occurred at the North Shore Road club at about 1.20 a.m. on Tuesday.

Cash stolen

A thief stole a wallet containing a large sum of cash from a Pembroke home on Tuesday.

Aside from the cash, the thief also stole bank cards and other personal items from the home on Crossland Road.
