Union has designs on new office space

The Bermuda Public Service Union is investigating the possibility of a multimillion dollar revamp of their HQ.

Architects have drawn up a sketch for a three-storey building to be erected on the group's car park. Cars would use a new underground car park.

General Secretary Edward Ball Jr. said the 3,200-strong union had grown and needed more space.

He said: "We have nine staff, we need an auditorium and meeting rooms. We could rent some of the space for business."

He said if the project went ahead the next stage would be to get planning approval with the building possibly being built within the next couple of years.
