3Dlabs loss widens
year, compared to a loss of 2.9 million in 1999.
The wider loss occurred in spite of a 54 percent increase in revenues from $46 million for the 1999 fiscal year $71 million in fiscal 2000.
"Excluding amortisation, charges and reserves, for the year ended December 31, 2000, 3Dlabs recorded a net loss of $7.9 million, or $0.39 per share, compared to a net loss of $2.9 million or $0.17 per share in 1999,'' the company said.
Total revenues for the fourth quarter of 2000 were $24.1 million, up 70 percent from the $14.2 million reported in the fourth quarter of 1999, and up 40 percent from the $17.2 million reported in third quarter of 2000.
"We closed the 2000 fiscal year with a strong fourth quarter, led by substantial revenue growth and significant reduction in our operating losses,'' said Osman Kent, president and CEO of 3Dlabs. "The growth in revenues was driven by increased sales of our Wildcat product line and continued strength of the Oxygen line of products in the channel.''
