Police to focus search on Sandys after reports of ‘sightings’

Police will be out in force in various Sandys neighbourhoods today in a renewed search for missing Canadian tourist William Grange.

The search effort will be launched after police received reports of “persistent sightings in those areas”.

Mr Grange, 67, who suffers from short-term memory loss, was staying at the Cambridge Beaches resort in Sandys when he disappeared on the evening of Friday, May 2.

Despite a concerted search effort by police and dozens of volunteers in the last 12 days, he has still not been found, and on Monday police were forced to scale down their operation.

Last night a police spokesman said: “The Bermuda Police Service will be caring out searches for Mr Grange in certain neighbourhoods in Sandys, as a result of persistent sightings in those areas.

“Members of the public should not be alarmed with the sight of officers searching properties and other specific areas. All officers will be wearing reflective police vest.”
