Bermuda College have teamed up with the University of South Carolina to provide education training.

The agreement will allow student and student teachers to major in: middle grades education and secondary education in English, Spanish, biology, mathematics and social studies.

The University of South Carolina is an accredited university spread over a 314-acre campus with 4,500 students.

Bermuda College students will get an Associate Degree in either Arts, Science or Arts and Science before transferring credits overseas to USC Upstate for completion of its undergraduate requirements for either a BA or Bsc in Secondary Education.

College Programme Coordinator Lynette Woods describe the new partnership as ?an exciting opportunity for Bermudians to do specialised training?.

She was also pleased the partnership has received full endorsement by principals and other education officials.

?It is ideal for those traditional students specialising in secondary education, those in teaching who desire to upgrade or add a teaching speciality or those looking for a career change.?

An information session will be held at the College on Thursday from 5.30 to 8 p.m. in the Blue Room (New Hall ? N115).
